 | In 2004, I founded Peace Not War Japan (PNWJ) to make a contribution to the growth of Japan's modern grassroots peace movement. The group used music to raise awareness and funds in Japan for peace and worked closely with its British parent organisation. As Founding Director, I developed networks and partnerships across Japan, recruited and managed volunteer staff, built media relations and communications strategies, and managed operations, events and projects, including the production of a CD compilation album. Having set up a Steering Committee to run the group, I handed over responsibility for running it in 2008, prior to leaving Tokyo.
